Who wants a gel eyeliner for less than £1!!!!!!!

So you may remember in my ELF brush post HERE I mentioned I had a new BARGAIN gel eyeliner I was currentley using with my new ELF studio angled liner brush and it has become on of my favourites really fast, I love gel eyeliners as the lasting power and intensity is amazing so when I heard about this one I HAD to try it I first saw it when the lovely Nicoletta did a blog post on bargains she had found and this sounded fab. It is from Ebay (Ebay I know!) and is unbranded the exact link I got mine from is HERE and as it is from Hong Kong they offer worldwide shipping so you can all get your hands on it no matter where you are, and YES you have read correctley this little baby cost me 99p with 29p delivery, YES THATS £1.28 (or for any americans that's just under $2!) The delivery does take a while (mine took about 10 days but thats only a minor issue)

The liner is so creamy and easy to use and boy does it last! It's waterproof so can be abit annoying to budge at night but an oil based eye make up remover worked well, or good old olive oil and water (bit of a DIY tip for you there) It is totally smudge proof so once it's dry it is set for the day, i've also put it on my waterline and it hasn't irritated my eyes (although don't take my word for this as everyone is different) and like I said before it is really dark black in one swipe which is important for me with liners, here are some pics of me wearing it and obviously a swatch!.....

The using my Blush as a lipstick experiment........

Hi everyone I did a post not long back featuring one of the MAC Cremeblend blushes 'So Sweet So Easy' HERE and the lovely Alexis was curious as to see what the shade looked like as a lip color, as it is such a soft and pretty pink, I had actually never thought of doing it but OMG I LOVE IT!!!! What a fantastic idea, I mentioned in the other post I had difficulty and I still just can't get it to work as a blush.....everytime I apply it it goes patchy which im sad about as I love it, i've tried it with my fingers/blush brushes/stipple brush even my Sigma F80 flat top kabuki but still to no avail.

Sooo I am very happy that it's working for me as a lip colour at least! It actually had pretty good lasting power and was quite moistourising, I will be trying this on more cream blushes, here's some pics -

I wasn't in a creative or bright make up mood today so the natural finish fitted in nicely, I was just off to do some work so I just did a neutral eye with thick liner to glam up abit but kept the rest of my make up simple, I didn't even use blush today just my w7 Honolulu bronzer.

I love little tips like this so a big thanks to Alexis I now have a great new way to wear this and not waste it!

Also thought i'd share these 2 funny pics of the week seen as its friday haha -
This is a portrait of this man done with bricks!! Imagine having that at the side of your house, how cool though! Was a quick blackberry snap whilst I was in a taxi at the traffic lights LOL
& My rescue cat I blogged about before George, we've had him for about 5wks now! Here is in the garden earlier sticking his tongue out hahaha how cheeky!
 Happy weekend dolls! xoxoxo

p.s I will get the swatches up from my E.L.F haul at the beginning of the week ASAP I haven't forgotten as I know a few people wanted to see the blushes in more detail.

MAC Cremeblend Blush - ''So Sweet, So Easy''

Hi its been a few days since i've posted as had a busy week with some appointments etc, sooooo i'll be doing a few posts this week now i've got some time, First up I thought i'd do a review on this MAC Cremeblend blush, its the first i've tried and I got it from the lovely Maria's Blog Sale a couple of week ago although you can buy it online or from MAC for £17.00.

It's a lovely girlie pink, perfect for adding abit of colour without it screaming 'im wearing blush' too much LOL. It is pigmented but goes on quite sheer so its a nice natural finish.

I love the glowy, radiant look that cream blushes give, the only problem I have is when I apply this the rest of my foundation decides to play patchy, so instead of this blending in it rubs my foundation off when been rubbed in, oh gosh am I even making sense haha! I don't know if this is the brush im using, or if its my foundation, I have tried primer before that makes no difference, I have just ordered the Elf Studio Stipple brush which is meant to be good for cream blushes so im hoping this might help as I really LOVE this shade and everything else about it!

I tried to get a pic of me wearing it but the lighting wouldn't show the pinkiness of the colour up properly. Do not mind the rest of my make up I literally just applied the blush after i'd had this make up on for hours for example purposes but you kind of get an idea of the sheen and radiance....I hope!
Any tips would be appreciated!

a £1.99 Benefit High Beam DUPE!

Look familiar? First thoughts? Benefit High Beam sorry Technic High Lights......I see a lawsuit coming haha joking, I first saw this on Nicolettas blog and bought it after then...a mere £1.99 compared to the £18.50 price tag for Benefit., I bought it in Bodycare and usually stick my nose up at the Technic stuff as it seems like make up i'd have bought at 12 when I didn't know better but I was wrong! Also a quick search in google shows you can purchase High Lights online at various other stores.

It looks abit like a nail polish and has the same type brush, I would actually recommend buying it instore if you can as the first one I got the brush was all messed up and squashed and bent so I took it back, she gave me a new one....opened it SAME ISSUE! Soooooo she went to get another......opened it SAME ISSUE, that was 3 all with a crappy brush, so she went to get another........opened it SAME ISSUE! Well to be fair it was the best of the lot and not as bent but still not perfect, then finally the 5th bottle has a decent-ish brush but what the hell really! Not something that would happen at Benefit I tell ya!

I like to use it on my cheekbones for sheen, or under my browbone, also it can be mixed in with your foundation for a dewy look (Got this tip from Adrienne's blog on her Ashley and Mary Kate make up post check it out HERE) I don't have high beam that I can compare it to but I have used high beam before and it is a good dupe!

Then here it is blended my camera didn't pick it up majorly well but you can see the sheen-y effect

Whilst there I spotted another Technic dupe 'Prime It' (Face Primer) incredibly similar to 'That Gal' from Benefit....I swatched instore but it was only a tester so they must be flying off the shelves it was really illuminating and looked pretty good I definatley will be trying it soon.
What other dupes do I need?

Golden-Berry Face Of The Day using MUA Heaven and Earth palette & Berry Lipstick

So as I mentioned a couple of posts back I am loving the berry lip trend that is going to be huge for winter and I showed you the new Colour Drench 2true lipstick I got (post HERE). So I thought I would do a look with that and the MUA Heaven and Earth palette that I also showed you (post HERE). I thought because the lip colour is very striking and quite dark it was probabaly best to stick with neutral eyes, but to still keep it warm I used golden colours, so it ended up been 'A Golden-Berry look' I think I will be wearing this quite alot in the coming months, although I want either a more darker brown toned berry or a more plum colour, this one is abit too fuchsia, I like it but its not 'The one'.

Anyhoodles here is the look - (for the eye's I used '1' all over the lid, '2' on the eyelid and '3' in the crease and outer corners, I also put abit of highlighter under my browbone

The full list of products I used was -
FACE:
  • Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hr foundation (shade 201)
  • W7 Concealer palette
  • Collection 2000 shine away powder (medium)
  • W7 Honolulu bronzer
  • Benefit Posie Tint on cheeks
  • Rimmel eyebrow pencil (black/brown)
EYES:
  • Benefit Lemon Aid (to prime my eyes)
  • MUA Heaven and Earth Eyeshadow palette
  • 2True Liquid Liner
  • Clinique High Impact mascara

2True reviews - New 'Colour Drench' Gloss and Lipstick and my trusty liquid liner

2true is exclusive to Superdrug stores and it is all £1.95 or 3 for £5, AND they do not do any animal testing big big BIG yaaaay!!!

I have always bought their liquid liner, in my opinion it's the best i've ever used since first using it about 3-4yrs ago (I did a post on it HERE). So whilst getting a new liner to stock up on, I was umming and ahhing over what products to get as might aswell do the 3 for £5 offer! So I have been looking for  a berry lipstick for the past few weeks and the nearest one 2true did was shade 5 in their new range 'Colour Drench' lipsticks, then for the final item I thought the also new 'Colour drench' lipglosses would suffice, I wanted  a lovely orange/coral they had but they only had the tester in that and none in stock, so settled on a mid pink shade I thought would be ok to just throw in my bag, really I just got addicted to the smell and taste (vanilla!) after swatching it in store.

This is the liquid liner (also available in light blue packaging which is the waterproof version) -

The nib is a thick-ish point one and sturdy, I had flimsiness and really thin applicators or worse little brush ones, I find a tip like this or like felt tip liner type pens easiest to work with (Rimmel Exxaggerate is also ok brush wise but the but the pigmentation in this is WAY better, and collection 2000 24hr felt tip eyeliner pen would be my next favourite as I have definatley got used to that  now). You can see how black it is in just one easy sweep and for £1.95 - LOVE!

Next is the Colour Drench Lipstick -

I like these lipsticks they are pigmented, and long lasting and they feel great on but i'm not sure if its the berry shade I wanted, they only had around 5 shades aswell and they do another lipstick range 'glossywear' and again that only had 5 shades or so, so this was the best in my opinion. It gives a nice glossy shine and is moistourising which is always a plus in my book! Either way I still like it is a shade and in winter I will wear it quite a lot I think as it will be time to retire my current favourite bright fucshias shades until next summer soon! One thing I do like is the sleek silver packaging though.

And finally the Colour Drench Lipgloss -

This is a nice natural gloss (its shade 4 by the way), not too obvious but has a nice hint of colour, at first I thought it was frosty/shimmery but once I had it on it was pretty nice, I love the smell like I said before and it's non sticky but still high shine, which is great as I tried a 2true lipgloss before and it was so incredibley shimmery and sticky beyond belief but these colour drench ones are new and I am impressed! These also have a doe foot applicator whereas the ultra sticky old ones I tried had a little brush which I wasn't really a fan of. They have quite a few pretty shades I pretty much liked them all actually will definatley be going back for the coral shade I saw!

So theres my 2true little bits! Who else is a 2true fan and what do you recommend?

MUA pro palette Heaven & Earth

I FINALLY GOT IT! yaaaay! I've actually had it for over a week now but since I haven't blogged for a week haven't got around to posting about it, I have been using it thought and have to say I love it!

All my fellow bloggers will be sick to death of probably seeing reviews on this palette but I know quite a few other people come across my blog and they might not be familiar to it so thought I would do this quick post.

I can't recommend it more it's one of them must haves, I love doing neutral eye looks in the summer time and bright lips so this is ideal, it definatley is like a budget version of Urban Decay's 'Naked' palette some people have even said they prefer it more, all the colours are shimmer so if you're a fan of matte shades this won't be for you but luckily I prefer shimmery shades, and they're not overly glittery or anything. The eyeshadows blend well (like the fantastic single £1 regular MUA ones) and the pigmentation is amazing.

My superdrug hasn't got any MUA Pro in, it has a MUA stand but just with the regular line products which is disappointing, so I ordered online (p.s its the last few hours of free shipping on superdrug.com!). The new pro line includes palettes, primers, mascaras, eyeshadow trios, bronzers, foundation, nail polish and much more it looks fab and I can't wait to try more items, they're all under £5 too (this was £4)

Dusk til dawn and Starry night palettes are next on my list you can check more MUA stuff out on the superdrug website HERE

2 New Products from BeautyUK - Lip Lust & Pearl Eyeliner

I just this morning recieved 2 BeautyUK products from their new range (Thank you to Viki @ BeautyUK for sending me these) and literally had to share! I love BeautyUK it is so affordable and has fantatic quality products (as well as not testing on animals which is always gets companies in my good books!). I have an eyeshadow palette and some of their nail polishes already all of which I can't say a bad word about. The 2 new products I have are the Lip Lust in 'Moulin Rouge' and Pearl Eyeliner in 'Eclipse'.

Moulin Rouge is a lovely red, I saw it had some shimmer/glitter in which I don't normally go for in lip colours but on the lips it didn't show up in a bad way it just made the shine more extreme and dazzling so I loved tha, I so find some shades of red hard to wear but this was a beautiful shade that will look amazing in autumn/winter, The Lip Lusts are pigmented, slightly scented lip glosses (with either Mint, Papaya or Strawberry depending on shade) but its not overpowering at all,  I was pleasantly surprised as I was expecting these to be quite heavy but they were amazingly light and the best bit? Not one bit of stickiness! I hate sticky lipgloss with a passion and these feel moistourising whilst delivering a really bold colour and a small amount goes far,

They are in a squeeze tube and have a soft applicator which makes them really easy to apply,

There is 11 shades alltogether - Barbie Girl, Cocktail, Date Night, Diamond, Envy, Office Chic, Oh Baby, Playboy, St Tropez, Sweet Sixteen I am lusting after 'Envy' which is a rich berry, 'Oh baby' which is a baby pink and 'Cocktail' which is a coral, just added them to my mental shopping list! These are also a bargain price of £2.99! You can check them all out HERE. My verdict is - I am really impressed, I don't wear gloss that much these days but these will definatley be changing that, I cannot wait to try some more and the lasting power by the way is also fantastic, I reapplied once or twice in the day that was just because I liked the feel of them so much.

Next is the Pearl Eyeliner, I love eyeliners and when I used to work in Internacionale when I was at college about 3-4yrs back the BeautyUK glitter eyeliners used to sell so well and I loved them for glamming up on a night out but I hadn't tried none of their other eyeliner, They have just brought out the Pearl ones, these aren't glittery but they are pearlescent and more metallic, These retail for £3.49. 'Eclipse' is a deep midnight blue there is 7 other shades - Stardust, Sphinx, Purple Haze, Sorceress, Rich Mahgany, Blue Lagoon and Oceania. You can check these out HERE. I think 'Sphinx' which is a gold copper, 'Sorceress' which is a deep purple and 'Oceania' which is a turqouise would suit my eye colour so they are also on that mental shopping list LOL (Love the cheap prices of BeautyUK otherwise i'd be bankrupt at this rate!)

The applicator is a sturdy point and not a flimsy brush unlike some I hate that as I find it so much easier to work with when it's a thicker tip aswell, Eclipse wasn't super pigmented so I had to apply 2 coats and you do need to let it dry inbetween coats but this isn't a problem as such, I will definatley recommend and be trying more colours these will look fantastic on an evening, and something usual from the plain black eyeliner I usually wear.

I am now also dribbling over the baked eyeshadows and blushes they have released, by the way you can check out the new line of stuff HERE

You can buy BeautyUK directly online (they ship international), aswell as in Superdrug/Internacionale/Select stores. Also don't forget to follow them on twitter @beautyUKtweets
