MAC Cremeblend Blush - ''So Sweet, So Easy''

Hi its been a few days since i've posted as had a busy week with some appointments etc, sooooo i'll be doing a few posts this week now i've got some time, First up I thought i'd do a review on this MAC Cremeblend blush, its the first i've tried and I got it from the lovely Maria's Blog Sale a couple of week ago although you can buy it online or from MAC for £17.00.

It's a lovely girlie pink, perfect for adding abit of colour without it screaming 'im wearing blush' too much LOL. It is pigmented but goes on quite sheer so its a nice natural finish.

 

I love the glowy, radiant look that cream blushes give, the only problem I have is when I apply this the rest of my foundation decides to play patchy, so instead of this blending in it rubs my foundation off when been rubbed in, oh gosh am I even making sense haha! I don't know if this is the brush im using, or if its my foundation, I have tried primer before that makes no difference, I have just ordered the Elf Studio Stipple brush which is meant to be good for cream blushes so im hoping this might help as I really LOVE this shade and everything else about it!

I tried to get a pic of me wearing it but the lighting wouldn't show the pinkiness of the colour up properly. Do not mind the rest of my make up I literally just applied the blush after i'd had this make up on for hours for example purposes but you kind of get an idea of the sheen and radiance....I hope!

Any tips would be appreciated!

2True reviews - New 'Colour Drench' Gloss and Lipstick and my trusty liquid liner

2true is exclusive to Superdrug stores and it is all £1.95 or 3 for £5, AND they do not do any animal testing big big BIG yaaaay!!!

I have always bought their liquid liner, in my opinion it's the best i've ever used since first using it about 3-4yrs ago (I did a post on it HERE). So whilst getting a new liner to stock up on, I was umming and ahhing over what products to get as might aswell do the 3 for £5 offer! So I have been looking for  a berry lipstick for the past few weeks and the nearest one 2true did was shade 5 in their new range 'Colour Drench' lipsticks, then for the final item I thought the also new 'Colour drench' lipglosses would suffice, I wanted  a lovely orange/coral they had but they only had the tester in that and none in stock, so settled on a mid pink shade I thought would be ok to just throw in my bag, really I just got addicted to the smell and taste (vanilla!) after swatching it in store.

This is the liquid liner (also available in light blue packaging which is the waterproof version) -

 

 

The nib is a thick-ish point one and sturdy, I had flimsiness and really thin applicators or worse little brush ones, I find a tip like this or like felt tip liner type pens easiest to work with (Rimmel Exxaggerate is also ok brush wise but the but the pigmentation in this is WAY better, and collection 2000 24hr felt tip eyeliner pen would be my next favourite as I have definatley got used to that  now). You can see how black it is in just one easy sweep and for £1.95 - LOVE!

Next is the Colour Drench Lipstick -

 

 

 

I like these lipsticks they are pigmented, and long lasting and they feel great on but i'm not sure if its the berry shade I wanted, they only had around 5 shades aswell and they do another lipstick range 'glossywear' and again that only had 5 shades or so, so this was the best in my opinion. It gives a nice glossy shine and is moistourising which is always a plus in my book! Either way I still like it is a shade and in winter I will wear it quite a lot I think as it will be time to retire my current favourite bright fucshias shades until next summer soon! One thing I do like is the sleek silver packaging though.

And finally the Colour Drench Lipgloss -

 

 

 

This is a nice natural gloss (its shade 4 by the way), not too obvious but has a nice hint of colour, at first I thought it was frosty/shimmery but once I had it on it was pretty nice, I love the smell like I said before and it's non sticky but still high shine, which is great as I tried a 2true lipgloss before and it was so incredibley shimmery and sticky beyond belief but these colour drench ones are new and I am impressed! These also have a doe foot applicator whereas the ultra sticky old ones I tried had a little brush which I wasn't really a fan of. They have quite a few pretty shades I pretty much liked them all actually will definatley be going back for the coral shade I saw!

So theres my 2true little bits! Who else is a 2true fan and what do you recommend?

Kim Kardashians nude lip colour (nude lips people behave hahaha)

So Kim Kardashian is famed for this (no not THAT) - the NUDE lip! I know alot of times I have seen on blogs that she uses Angel lipstick by MAC and Turkish Delight Lipgloss by NARS but I read a recent interview where she gave a sneak into her beauty bag and the 3 essentials for her perfect nude lip were -

• MAC Lipstick in 'Freckletone' RRP £13.50
• MAC Lipliner in 'Stripdown' RRP £10.50
• Yves Saint Laurent Gloss Pur Lipgloss in 'Pure nude 1' RRP £21.00

Or for all you bargain hunters we could do......'Vikkis Essential nude lip' now I don't own frekletone so not 100% on the shade but my go to shade for when I am doing a nude lip is Sleek True Colour Lipstick in 'Babydoll' these are £3.99 from what I can remember it's similar to Barry M '101' but without the negatives 101 had such as the dragging and chalkiness, you can see its a lighter colour and more pink than the Kim K pic so one I had similar to Kim's was Rimmel Lasting Finish in 'Birthday Suit'

SLEEK 'Monaco' Palette thank you to the lovely Adrienne :)

I thought I would do a quick post on the Sleek Monaco palette which I got sent after being a runner up on a giveaway the lovely Adrienne was running (click to check out her fabulous blog it's a must-read!) I never ended up getting my hands on this palette myself so I was so happy to finally get it (it's been out a few weeks but I have seen it is still available on the Sleek website)

Here is a few pics and the rundown on the shades -

So there is 12 as usual a mixture of matte and shimmer/metallics, The matte shades aren't as good pigmentation as the metallic and they can be slightly chalky, BUT all the shades are so pretty -

• Bamboo - I liked the look of this neutral shade but I could not get much payoff it's practically the same colour as me so hard to show up
• Aquamarine - A lovely light blue
• Midnight Garden - Deep blues like this are my fave for evening looks I think they really flatter dark eyes and are a good shade instead of black for a night time smokey eye
• Sunset - My totally fave shade from this palette it is a lovely bronze copper colour that I think will look great with a tan
• Washed Ashore - a light orange which will be good to use in bright/tropical make up looks
• Magenta Madness - this is slightly chalky and not as pigmented as I thought but it is buildable and I don't have any similar magenta shades really
• Summer Breeze - metallic turqouise I love shades like this
• Sand Walker - another natural shade would probabaly just use this as a base though as it still is hard to show up on me
• Kiwi Zest - another favourite a very pigmented metallic lime green, I love greens
• Lotus Flower - again a very pigmented metallic lilac shade, I get alot of wear out of lilacs its one of them nice safe colours that flatter most eyes
• Humming Bird - the 3rd light blue in this palette it's a metallic and my fave of the 3
• Moors Treasure - a smokey matte burgandy purple

I overall love this and I do look forward to the limited edition palettes coming out.

I wil have some make up looks from this palette up soon :)

Bourjois Little Blush Pots 3 REVIEWS

I have spoke about these blushes ALOT and use them pretty much everyday without fail, so I thought even though they are old for me I will do a review on them.....I am talking about Bourjois Little Blush Pots, The 3 shades I have are Lilas D'or, Rose Frisson and Rose D'or.

Rose Frisson is a beautiful Rose colour, not too pink and not too red just that lovely natural flushed shade, 

Rose D'or is the essential bright 'Barbie Pink' It is a lovely really girlie shade and so easy to wear as it's not too much of an overpowering shade it also has tiny flecks of gold which highlight and really give the skin  a radiant glow, perfect for summer.

Finally Lilas D'or is more of a pink-peach toned shade with golden flecks like Rose D'or but it isn't as pink or bright as that, I also find the golden flecks show up more in this than in Rose D'or

I have been using them all for quite a while and I don't know if it's because they are baked blushes after a while they seem to harden and you literally cannot pick the colour up so I had to scratch the surface of them all with a clean lash comb, which is slightly annoying since these retail at £7.99 each for a tiny 2.5g (MAC blushes are over double that size and remember Bourjois is meant to be a drugstore brand)

 Even they still aren't as pigmented as they were when I first got them and because it is abit of an hassle I dont know if I will be repurchasing all of them which is a shame as I do like their lasting power and the shades and they way they look when they're ok, I had the same problem with an eyeshadow trio from Bourjois but they have since reformulated their eyeshadow pots. Oh and you probabaly already know this but this little flimsy brush they come with - bin it! It is useless, really and thats coming from everyone I have heard speak about these not just myself, I do like the cute pots and fact they have a mirror and beware of the smell its sort of 'old lady rose perfume' but to be honest I love it (*hangs head in shame*)

Anyone else tried these?

NYX Round Lipsticks 'Power' and 'Tea Rose' REVIEW

So todays post is on NYX round lipsticks this is my first time trying these as they are hard to get hold of in the UK, But I finally managed it :)

I got a few but sold 3 I didn't like on EBay (Pumpkin Pie, Twist, Doll) then I kept 2 which were 'Power' and 'Tea Rose' 

Power is a Lilac shade and Tea Rose is a Pinky Coral Rose type of shade, both have no frost/shimmer/glitter or anything in them which I LOVE as me and frosty lipsticks do not get on.

They are both extremley pigmented, the swatches I did were just in one swipe, the intensity really is amazing, I do wish the UK would stock the full NYX range as the high quality and low prices are fantastic,

These are both creamy to apply but have a matte finish and you really only need one coat of these I think Power will look best on mid-tan skin tones and for a lot of people Tea Rose will be a MLBB (my lips but better) type shade. They aren't particularly drying but do make sure you're lips aren't dry to begin with because believe me these baby's will highlight it ALL!

I'm glad I got to try some finally but the shade I did really want was Louisiana a gorgeous neon pink but I couldn't get hold of it.....(well I thought I had then in my order they had sold out since then and so sent 'Twist' as replacement which was the most awful shimmery frosty orange brown ever BLEURGH)

Here's a few pics of them first up is Power and then Tea Rose I took about 50 pics and I still couldn't get that many different decent ones but hey ho thats life LOL!

Acessorize Trio Eye Collection

 I got these a few weeks back as they were only £1.99 on the Superdrug website and the eyeshadows usually retail seperatley at £4 each so it was a great bargain, unfortunatley they are no longer on offer but the trio pack is still available for £4.99 which is still a bargain. You can find them HERE.

They were originally  a mothers day promotion and there is 2 different collections the first one I got with green (mermaid), vibrant purple (iris) and a deep silver colour (platinum) or another pack in with smokey dark browns and a pale pink colour (shades - sage, truffle, soft pink). Unfortunatley you can't pick which ones you recieve but luckily I wasn't too fussed either way, here are the shades -

I have never tried Accessorize make up before, I have seen a few reviews of the Eye Wardrobe which is a palette of 12 (looks abit like a sleek palette) but I can only find that on ebay now and keep getting outbig Grrrr! I am very impressed though all these were swatched with one swipe and they are very silky and pigmented, the lasting power on them was good too and the colours showed up really vibrant even without primer, the packaging is cute aswell I love butterflies! I will be doing an upcoming make up look with these soon, and I will most definatley be trying out more Accessorize items, the bronzer and baked eyeshadows look amazing, and they have some fantastic nail colours.

Who else has tried Accessorize make up and whats your recommendations?

p.s the Acessorize pigments are now £1.50 from £3 on Superdrug.com now as are some of the nail colours, single eyshadows, coloured liquid liners so it's worth checking them out :)

Get your FREE mineral make up samples NOW and my Face Of The Day

So today I have a 'Mineral Face Of The Day' I haven't really used mineral make up before face wise so when I saw this company offering free samples I thought now would be a great time to try. The company is LN Girls.co.uk  you too can also go request your free samples at the site now so make sure you do (there is a tab for 'Request a Sample' on the homepage you just need to register).

LN girls is a UK based company that specialises in Mineral make up, Mineral make up is great as it is free from all dyes, talcs, fillers, chemical preservatives, animal by-products, and synthetic fragrances that can be found in lots of other make up products, this companys products are 100% NATURAL & PURE ingredients, plus there is no testing on animals which is a great plus in my books. Their Question/Answer page HERE might answer any questions you may have, their it states that the products are even great and possibly beneficial to problem skin such as acne/sensitive skin and even suitable for dry skin which alot of mineral make up can emphasise instead of help.

The 3 testers I chose were - a eyeshadow/pigment (Drama Queen), a foundation (Sugar Cookie) and a blush (Sugar Palace which is similar to Sleeks 'Rose Gold' blush).

 

 

 

They arrived in handy little pots very fast (2-3days) and these will probably go quite far, well in particular the eyeshadow and blush, the foundation I will probabaly get 3-4 uses out of all together as trust me a little goes a LONG way! Here are some more images up close:

I really didn't expect to like the foundation, as I like a full coverage that I feel only liquid foundations really give, but alatley with the warm weather I have felt suffocated by heavy liquid foundation so I applied this using a small kabuki brush and buffed it in circular motions and boy was I surprised it actually gave me just as good coverage as my usual foundation! I LOVED it, I don't have problem skin such as spots really but my skin can get abit dull and sometimes dry, make sure you apply a moistouriser 5mins or so before the foundation to give it a even base. You can view the foundation page HERE it costs £11.59 for 7g which is a great price and comes in 7 shades

The blush I LOVED normally I am stuck to my beloved Bourjois Blush Pots and other baked blushes and haven't tried any mineral/loose powder ones so I did at first put too much on my blusher brush and was horrified but once I blended it my cheeks looked luminous, with a healthy glow and Sugar Palace is a beautiful Rose colour with a gold sheen it's so pretty. It costs the same as the foundation but you get 6g not 7 and there is 4 different shades of blush/bronzer HERE

Finally the eyeshadow was a lovely deep purple that went on so smoothly just be careful as pigments can be messy and have slight fallout so be prepared for that, I didn't use a primer and it still didn't crease it applied smoothly and lasted. There is 7 silky eyeshadows which is what this one was and 2 matte ones they are £8.75 and can be found HERE. 

These are the final swatches of all 3 (In L-R order of - Blush, Eyeshadow, Foundation)

 My only criticism is that after about 6hrs my skin felt shiny and oily which never really happens but it has been warm weather and I didn't use a pressed powder like I usually do on top of my liquid foundation so you might need to touch them up for longer wear than that, they also can go abit powdery around the nose so take care to apply sparingly there. Other than that they get abig thumbs up from me.

For the face of the day I also added used a 'Forest Green Kohl Eyeliner' as I thought it complemented the purple eyeshadow the liner is by MUA @ Superdrug and amazing, it cost £1 and are available in other shades like Black, Blue, Silver and Lilac I am going to pick more up and do a full review and swatches this week as the pigmentation and how easy they are to apply is amazing. The only other thing I have used on this face of the day as well as these products is -

• Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil
• L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara
• Rimmel Exxagerate lip liner (In shade Eastend Snob I just filled all my lips in with it and then added a clear gloss)
