Sleek Make-Up Mediterranean Collection

Limited Edition 'Mediterranean Collection' from Sleek is out tomorrow!! (8th June). I get so excited whenever a new collection comes out i'm really looking forward to the neutral/nude palette (which will be out in August - thanks adrienne for letting me know the date) and also the lip tars (hopefully coming out in the next few months too) AND the next collection (July) will be the Carribean one which is more exotic colours but darker shades than these - orange, red, yellow, greens, pinks, etc) and the blush & pout polish in that collection is also a peachy orange from what I have heard.

Anyway back to the MEDITERRANEAN collection,  Products within the range are: 

MONACO i-DIVINE (RRP £6.49), a 12 piece eyeshadow palette this is the only item I am purchasing I think, look at all those exotic colours! Perfect for summer I am so excited to do a make up look with these

 

MONTE CARLO POUT POLISH (RRP £4.29), a tinted lip conditioning balm containing SPF15 enriched with jojoba, avocado, and sweet almond oil; I love Pout Polish but i'm not an avid collector and already have a few that are new-ish and full and this colour is quite sheer for me I prefer brights (although beware in the pot it does look very bright it just isn't!)

and lastly the SANTORINI BLUSH (£4.29), a pink blush at first I loved how pink this was but a) my obsession with pink blushes has gone too far I need more colours so im banning myself buying any pink cheek products LOL but this is so pigmented and nice, P.S - it is as bright as it looks but heard it blends out wearable and is gorgeous if minimally used!

Honolulu Bronzer & A Golden Face of the day!!

Today I did this post as half review/half FOTD (well yesterdays FOTD but blogger was playing up all last night and I couldn't upload any pics!) SO the new product I have is w7 Honolulu which is a bronzer and incedibly similar to Benefits Hoola, I have seen this on a few other blogs and so have alot of people so I thought i'd incorporate it into a make up look post aswell so it wasn't just about the bronzer.

 

W7 is a UK brand found in a few discount shops like Xtras/Savers/Bodycare but I bought mine online at Fragrance Direct for £2.25 and there is quite a few on Ebay that ship worldwide for all my non-UK readers. So above is the packaging its cardboard but very sturdy and super pretty I am a sucker for pretty packaging! And above also is the brush that comes with it which is so cute with its pink tips but unfortunatley it is also pretty useless so its been tossed to one side!

 It is a medium matte shade bronzer quite similar to my Rimmel Sunshimmer medium matte which as you may know is my current favourite bronzer, It is perfect for my olive toned skin but as it is quite light I think it will be best for light-medium tones and because it is matte it is ideal for contouring, if you're wanting a great wash of colour on your cheeks this isn't really going to do the job unless you build it up BUT as a natural easy everyday bronzer I think it is great, This is the swatch -

So the look of the day I thought I would do as yesterday was fairly sunny was a 'Golden Peach' one. I used a light peachy orange eyeshadow someone gave me from Marks&Spencers all over my lid and added the golden colour from the Sleek Original pallette on the crease and outer corners then I used black shadow applied with an angled brush for a soft alternative to eyeliner on my lashline and a Sleek kohl eyeliner pencil on my waterline and on my lips my Max Factor golden 'Tiramisu' lipliner and a tan/golden lipgloss which is Revlon Colorstay in shade Neverending Nude.

I also teamed it with my new fave hairband this golden flowers one which is perfect for summer and was only £1.50 for primark, You can see a better idea of the flowers with this below pic I LOVE it!! Its not the neatest on as I just shoved it on for the photos sake LOL.

Whilst in Primark I also picked up a few bits including these 2 cute pairs of earrings for summer which are soooo cute!

So as I was having a bit of a chill out day aswell as orange golden day I stayed in my new Snoopy vest-nightshirt and then I thought I had to match my nails to this look so I did! I am going to be doing a full Review and NOTD of this polish in a few days so look out for that :)

MORE personal pics - Last year's Zoo day out

So as i'ver done a few beauty posts alately I thought I would mix it up with some personal pics, I forgot about the album I had these in on facebook as I uploaded them ages ago as this is basically from our trip to Chester Zoo last year, I had such a fun time it was probably one of the most fun days of my year as I hadn't been to a Zoo since I was like 10! SO I didn't have my blog then to post them I thought i'd show you the lovely pics now as it was a really good memory for me i'd like to share - Enjoy! P.S....I am scheduling 5 make up posts tonight to post over the next week for those of you that prefer those over more personal posts like this LOL.


I LOVE this shot of the elephant, he (or she lol) looks so placid and cute aww I want to print this out and hang it on my wall now!

Then we saw SNAKES!! My phobia I feel a chill even looking at this abit, I don't know how I even photographed them :-s

Next a swinging monkey (I think it's some type of money anyway?!) I just wanted to stroke it it looks like a fluffy teddy bear

 All these penguins look lost or like they're looking for directions ha ha

The spikey thing below is actually a fish i've never seen nothing like it, it looks like the most fashionista fish ever as spikes are in fashion LOL

What pretty blue and yellow colours these birds are I feel like doing a make up look inspired by these (hmmm maybe thats for a new post next week watch this space!)

 Ash and Sulise have seen something of interest I like to catch these back of the head but cute moments!

 Me and Sulise cannot believe how much my hairs grown in a year! I look soooo tired as i'd gone Au natural on my face as I didn't want to be walking around the zoo with a face full of make up it was just a nice chill out ugg boots and tracksuit day!

Chester Zoo is really amazing, it was around £15 per person from what I can remember but take your own drinks/snacks because they are quite expensive

'Fierce' Palette & a lil EOTD (EYE OF THE DAY)

So todays post is a EOTD (eye of the day) normally I just do FOTDs (face of the day) BUT I didn't like the patchy foundation I had and really couldn't get an all over decent image of the make up thanks to my camera!

SOOOO I used the 'Fierce' Palette which I mentioned I had before when I used the other palette from this range which was Star see the post HERE that was the Smokey version and this is a more colourful one you get a turquoise, lilacy purple, copper and mauve toned brown

Although I thought the Star one was ok, I don't really like this 'Fierce' one the pigmentation is dreadful I could barely get the blue to show up and the lilac took some work to get it to show plus they had a fair bit of fall out and were abit chalky even the darker last 2 browns didn't show that well and the turquoise was the chalkiest of all

So here is my EOTD

I used the lighter brown all over my eye the turquoiseon the inner corners to middle of the lid and then the lilac from the middle out to the end and brown on the crease and added thick liquid liner, I also used the turquoise on my waterline which felt awful it been so powdery (lesson learn LOL)

I will put this one full shot on, the colour on my lips is NYC Peach Ice one of my fave cheap listicks love the colour

The story of my Eyebrows LOL......

Eyebrows have been the bane of my life, I had lovely thick eyebrows but back when I was 14 in 2005 I HATED them so overplucked them, they were never the same again, they grew back gradually and were decent again apart from the inner bits that have always been sparse especially on my my right eye and were like that until I was about 18 when I overplucked them AGAIN because I am a total idiot!! and now im 22 they do not grow good.....at all, they grow where I don't want them to (e.g in no shape) so I keep them fairly thin, thankfully I have never overplucked them that much they were barely there or anything so yes I keep them thin now but have to pencil them in as I like medium brows for my face, the right one I still don't like so im still 'mothering' that, I thought i'd do this post as alot of people on youtube/blogs have commented on they like my eyebrows but believe my without eyebrow pencil i'd be lost and I only started filling my brows in when I was like 18 before than I was in the dark LOL

So above is my 2 fave 'Eyebrow Pics' they were taken on a shoot on the same day so I obviously was having just a good brow day

This with nothing is my eyebrow in its total natural state -

So as you can see they're quite thin with a slight shape, to fill them in I use Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil it's under £4 its perfect colouring for my skin (its shade brown/black) usually as im naturally very dark brown shades are too light but then just black alone looks WAY too harsh so this is like  a dark browny shade and you can build it up darker, I find pencils easier to use than an angled brush and shadow but thats just personal preference, I haven't found a shade like this pencil ever, I tried a Calvin Klein one a while back initially I loved it, after a few days I realised it looked like I was using a black eyeliner as a blummin eyebrow pencil and looked awful so I banished it to the eyeliner drawer and now use it as a eye pencil time to time.

To start doing my brows I line my eyebrow pencil straight up in line from the side of my nose, this is where you brow should ideally start (obviously my brows have been filled in so this is just for an example!)

Then it should start to 'arch' in line with the centre of your pupil/eye like so -

Then finally it should end directly diagnal from the side of your nose

I fill in the inner area to the arch at the bottom first, and then the top of the eyebrow as I like a good even line and because i've messed around with the tops of my brows before there is a few sparse bits that are uneven

Then I go from the arch bit down to the end and just keep brushing over with soft, feathery strokes, don't get the pencil and treat it like a felt tip or heavy hand you have to gradually build

I also always put concealer under my eyebrows for a clean definition and highlight the brow bone area so the arch is emphasised. The main key is practise, practise, practise, I rarely get annoyed at my brows now but theres been so many days when they were in worse shape and I couldn't get them even to save my life and would nearly be in tears with frustration as I hated them!


Right now I am going to carry on growing them whilst trying to keep them in shape, Ideally I want to start getting them threaded as I think thats the best option for brows,

It's hard to explain in a blog post so this is just really a post on what I do instead of trying to make it a tutorial as that would be abit hard on a blog but I think I shall make a video about it soon as one of my lovely friends Natalie (hi if you're reading!!!) requested it a while back I just haven't had the time.
