Nice n Easy Perfect 10 Hair Dye Review

I recentley dyed my hair black with this dye (my natural colour is very dark brown so black just gives it a subtle extra edge its not that much different and I have black eyebrows so it's all good LOL) I actually use various black dyes as they all fade and some side pieces near the front of my hair always go a reddy brown colour its SO annoying! So i've used this before but can't remember loving or hating it! And it was on offer for £4.99 from the RRP £6.99 so I got it.

In the box you got stage 1. High Gloss Colour Creme 2. Colour Activating Creme and 3. Conditioner and all the usual hoopla like gloves/instructions -

This comes with the comb type applicator which you don't have to use you can just do it the stand way instead of 'combing' it on, I comb it on my roots and then hand apply the rest as I do it all by myself and find this fastest and easiest.

So all you do is squeeze all of the number 1 tube into the number 2 activator swish it about to mix it up, once you have given it a good swish/shade and its mixed take the lid off and apply! Simple!

I wouldn't recommend home dyes for going from light to dark if you're not experienced (trust me I know - ended up with light roots and still dark hair NOT a good look!) And you are meant to just leave this on for 10minutes. Little Miss Stupid here left it on for 20 because a) I like really black hair some dyes can be dull and b) I thought hmmm can't hurt can it not like its bright blonde bleach? Erm yes vikki, IT CAN! It practically dried on my hair and my hair felt like candyfloss and a a small bit actually came out (like a clump you get when you have brushed through a knotty patch) I was like eek oh dear, after lots of rinsing it was stilll quite dry and my hair is never dry or coarse and rarely knotty so I wasn't happy (pnly got myself to blame) thankfully the conditioner is really good that is the one thing I can vouch for, If I left this on for 10mins im sure i'd have been fine and my hair is fine now thankfully although I didn't dye it that long ago and now it's showing through browny bits again gaaaah! Even when it was dyed the colour wasn't particularly glossy or shiny or anything special so I think I will be trying another one next time. For good measure here is a pic of me with it on.....complete with stained forhead LMAO.

Any of you home hair-dyers or fellow raven haired ladies got any recommendations?

Face of the Day using 2 NEW N.Y.C products - Eye Quad/Lip Slider AND new shoes!!

So the pic above is todays FOTD (more pics of it down the page) and its created using 2 new N.Y.C (New York Color) products, it was quite warm today and I was just having a day out shopping so didn't want to be too overdone, anyway the products - First is this eyeshadow quad which is shade 'LEXINGTON LUXURY' a natural smokey set of colours, It has a handy little sheet to tell you which colour is for doing what with as you can see -
The colours are very pigmented (swatched with no primer and one swipe) for a bargain brand like NYC and I think I will get alot of wear out of this, they last quite a while even without primer and I definatley want to pick up some more shades the little quad is perfect for shoving in your bag on a night out and you can create different looks with it, I love the highlight (last swatch) and all over lid colour (first swatch) especially, these were swatched just with my finger and no base. These are available in Superdrug currentley reduced from £4.09 to £2.99.

Next up is this NYC lip slider in 'Sugar Kiss' I wanted something I could use as a lipbalm but with a tint so it's not too plain and these are quite similar to Sleek's 'Pout Polish' but they are abit stickier, I do love these though they are very sheer and im guessing most shades are like this but they do tone down quite red lips and give a nice subtle bit of colour, they smell soooo nice just like sugar and sweets plus they are really moistourising and good for just applying in between lipstick applications to keep lips looking glossy and nice these RRP at around £2.99 also.
Whos tried these or what other NYC products do you rate apparentley theres some NYC products and bronzer in poundland (UK) so im going to hunt them down!

Heres some more pics from my FOTD:

Apart from these 2 the other items I used were:
  • L'oreal True Match foundation
  • Rimmel Professional Eyebrow pencil  (Black/Brown)
  • L'oreal Telescopic mascara
  • Revlon Colorstay eyeshadow (Charcoal) used with an angled liner brush as eyeliner on top and bottom lashes
  • Honolulu W7 bronzer
  • Bourjois Little blush pot (Rose Frisson)
  • NYX long lip pencil (Nutmeg)
My hair is abit 'Bedhead' LOL I have been waving it with Jumbo Curling Tongs all week for abit of bounce instead of it been either dead straight or tighter curls like I usually have it, Im liking the middle ground! (full review of the jumbo curlers and 'how to' blog coming soon!)

I also got randomly treated by Ash my lovely partner today, he randomly gave me some money and bought me these gorgeous shoes below, I have had my eye on them for ages and finally they are mine, I am soooo pleased! So big thank you to him, Love him lots :)

SCANDALOUS hair products

SCANDALOUS hair have some exciting new arrivals!

These include -

  • Irresistibly straight smooth cream (rrp £4.99) - A smoothing cream that I will be speaking more about later in this post
  • Insatiable shine glossing shampoo (rrp £4.99) - This contains milk proteins and murumuru butter which transforms dull hair into glossy, shiny and most of all soft locks once again.
  • Insatiable shine glossing conditioner (rrp £4.99) - The accompnying conditioner to the above shampoo, which contails red seaweed extract and kukui nut oil which infuses the hair with even more shine just adding to that glossy, silky and most of all glamorous look
  • Ravishing radiance colour care shampoo (rrp £4.99) - All the ladies that colour their hair will understand how annoying it is when that once gorgeous colour starts fading, colour fades from the first wash so this shampoo is enriched with sunflower extract which keeps that lovely colour from fading and makes your hair look as fab as it did when first coloured
  • Ravinshing radiance colour care conditioner (rrp £4.99) - The accompnying conditioner to the above contains 2 antioxidants - aswell as the sunflower extract I mentioned above it also has vitamin E for even more powerful protection from colour fading.
  • Finally Bad girl curl cream (rrp £4.99) - For all my curly haired lovelies smooth this through the length of your hair after washing and towel drying and you will be left with voluptous curls and as this is formulated with nourishing wheat germ oil your style will last all night long and well into the morning!

I tried out 2 products - one from the range I just mentioned and another Scandalous product, First up was this 'Intensively Glossy Rescue Treatment'
*click all pics to enlarge if you want to read packaging*

I had recentley dyed my hair and due to the dye I used which was different to my normal one my hair was feeling unusually dry and not it's best, I try not to use too much heat on my hair, I use straighteners around twice a week sometimes three times but that's it, and I rarely blow dry my hair, but I needed a little boost back in my hair so after I shampoo'd I used this rescue treatment all you do is massage it in root to tip, leave it in for 30 seconds (yes just 30 seconds its that good!) and then rinse it twice as long as you would an average conditioner and voila! Smooth and nourished hair! On top of that it smells absoloutley fantastic, as does the whole Scandalous range, and it's a fragrance that lasts unlike alot of products, This product is a temporary quick fix and not a weekly treatment (I use Aussie 3 minute miracle usually) but I think this will be great for that extra boost every so often when I dye my hair, my mum has bleached hair and I have let her try it and she had some bleach-damage from colouring and she also was very impressed at the results so I would recommend using this in the same way you do a face mask 'as a once in a while treat'! I would rate it an A* love it!

Next I tried the Irresitibly straight smoothing cream which I have wrote about above -

This is a cream you put on before blow drying, just towel dry hair apply it root to tip and then blow dry (with a large paddle brush for best sleek results) and I have just said I don't really blow dry my hair this is because I feel blow drying my hair makes it dry and takes the moisture out totally, I usually towel dry my hair, comb it, let it dry naturally (quite wavy naturally but if I comb it straight it's more just 'kinky') and then straighten it from there and im good to go, but as I had just tried the rescue treatment and wanted to try this I thought for once I will blow dry it, and I was BLOWN away gone was that dry and dull feeling I usually have, and my hair was so soft and a few friends even commented that it looked like I had been to a salon and the best bit to this was I didn't even need to re-straighten my hair again until I washed it, normally when I sleep I get a few kinks or mess my hair up or even the odd bit of frizz but this kept it all in smooth and silky condition and I am happy I can finally blow dry my hair again so don't have to go through the hassle of waiting for it to naturally dry when im in a rush, both these rrp at £4.99 and all the Scandalous products is exclusively available at nationwise Superdrug stores, you can also shop online on www.superdrug.com which has FREE delivery on everything until midnight on the 19th June so hurry!

I can't wait to try more products by Scandalous! Heres some terrible pics of me as most of my make up had just been washed away in the shower LOL but I hope you can see how smooth my hair looks, it's a shame you can't feel the silkiness through the screen haha!

Anyone else got any favourite Scandalous products?

Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo and 3 Minute Miracle

New shampoo for me is a rarity LOL I went back to using L'oreal elvive which has been my holy grail for the last 18mths (in between I had ai disastorous experience with GUM shampoo and conditioner I hated them) I recentley changed Pantene pro-V ice shine which I thought was quite good actually BUT then I had an epiphany 5years after everyone else discovered Aussie I have finally started using it (I had tried sachets of the 3 minute miracle every blue moon that was it) If you have been living in the dark like me and still not discovered Aussie you can check out there story from their UK site HERE it is available in most Chemists, Boots, Superdrug, Online, etc

I got The miracle moist shampoo and 3 minute miracle reconstructor -

The shampoo contains Queensland Macadamia Nut extract, this helps smooth hair my hair as it's quite thick and if not straightened or curled it is hard to manage and abit coarse soI LOVE anything that promises to moistourise it, and this is great as I also love macadamia treatments, my hair dye (as im naturally very dark brown I just like black better on me so dye it every few months) comes with a sachet of a macadamia treatment that literally makes my hair feel like silk.

Then the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor is a deep conditioning treatment again for dry and damaged hair because of heat styling and colouring my hair this is great to keep it in tip top condition my mum also uses this on her light hair to repair bleach damage and finds it great plus I am really bad at getting my hair cut as I hate having any length cut off it as I am still trying to grow it even though it is long and it's over halway down my back now BUT I seriously wont be happy until it's 'Kardashian length' LOL so this is great for looking after the ends

My hair does feel alot smoother and after straightening it looked alot better and shinier I instantaly noticed the difference plus they smell GORGEOUS! The Aussie shampoo's have  a great reputation and are about £4 each I need the miracle moist conditioner as these were on offer 2 for £6 in Boots at the moment so I just used some Elvive conditioner I already had but if im using the reconstructor which I usually do at least once a week im not using conditioner, I just shampoo/rinse and apply that (usually longer than the 3mins it says aswell LOL)

What other Aussie products should I try? and who else is a fan?
P.S check out Aussies website HERE

HAIR ACCESSORIES/CURLS

Now its coming summer it means we can take off them winter hats and get the cool hair acessories out,
Anyway in the above pic I have some really cool hair acessories I picked up the first is a wire bendy headband which basically is a headband with wire in that you can twist to make shapes it was £1.50 and the blonde hair is my mums that I made model it for me whilst I took a pic ha ha, the next pic is 2 medium sized gold claw clips with floral patterns on that I thought will be good for just clipping my hair up in warmer weather (modelled by mums head again) also £1.50

Next modelled by myself is this floral/3 flower coral headband that I adore and a bargain £2!! I can't wait until it gets warmer to wear it for that boho feel I think it will look fab on warm summer days, as Tresemme Instant refresh dry shampoo is also half price in Superdrug at the moment (around £2.40ish) I thought I would try some to compare with trusty Batiste, Now this is ok but I don't think it does the job aswell as Batiste as that seems to add more volume whereas this just sat on my hair and left abit of residue I don't know if I need to give it another go as it was my first time using it so maybe it's just my hair been silly, but for that price might aswell try it out, i've heard rave reviews from other bloggers so time will tell....here's what it looks like, sorry for the crappy pics on my blackberry

I am going natural with my hair for a few weeks as it's really started to grow quite long
Above you can click to enlarge and kind of see my hair story in the BEFORE (2007) it was a light brown actually had blonde hightlights but very fine ones and it had been like this for a few years before then it was just my natural very dark brown, and you can see it's farily long and then in the bottom pic I dyed it black (which I hated at first) THEN Victoria Beckham and Rihanna cut their hair off so taking inspiration from the Rihanna Umberella video I chopped off mine as I wanted a change and thought frig it so did it thats the AFTER pic it was actually mid 2007 I cut it off but stuck with it through 2008 where I cut it again and 2009 it was growing here you can see still black and short, I had one relapse in 2009 when I dyed it brown but it didn't take too well even though the hairdresser stripped my hair so after a few months I went black and now I do love my black hair and so I haven't been majorly cutting it and here I am naturally fairly long again YAY!

Its actually abit longer than that pic now but I want it Kim Kardashian long (even though hers isn't all real!) and so I don't want to keep damaging it with heat from my straightners, it's in pretty good condition and I only usually straighten my hair 3 times a week max but prevention is better than the cure, Naturally its thick and hard to cope with but im just going to start emphasising the natural curl of it and hope for the best LOL it looks similar to this apart from this is a pic from a photoshoot and not natural as I curled it with a curler

Im gonna invest in some Boots Essential curl creme that I have heard rave reviews about any other curl products I need to know about then do let me know! I shall be taking some Curl Inspiration from these lovelys.....

Random BLAH day LOL

Yesterday I plucked my eyebrows took too much off now they're shorter than I like and me and ash have had a good laugh about it (ha frickin ha!) he finds it immensely hilarious I find it devastating to the point of I want to hide under the duvet but I got my eyebrow pencil out and soldiered  so glad I can fill my eyebrows in decently hahahahahah I need to laugh otherwise i'll cry

I then was going to do a gold eye and red lip tutorial I should have known it was jinxed when my camera fell over 5mins into the first attempt and I had to start again, 11mins later the video looks shit with a capital S, I know my videos aren't the best at the moment as im new but this was an exception, so I hit the delete button for that and resisted the urge to go back to bed LOL.

In other news I had a fab weekend but im going to do a seperate post on that when I get the pics off my friends as im too useless to actually ever pull my camera out my bag!

At the moment im loving the high top bun look....Lauren Conrad I need your hair.....thanks, I also stole your pose to match :-)

After taking my bun down I had a slightly wavy high ponytail which I actually also quite liked too

I have also decided to get fit (saying this less than a hour after I just got a big tin of Roses chocolates) and going healthy so first thing to go was white bread! See ya white bad bread and hello wholegrain good bread! I want a belly like this again:

Not that im saying im fat as I in no way think that, im not one of them girls with major body issues partly because a) It doesn't change them and b) Everyone has bits they don't like you just have to learn to love them, believe me theres plenty of imperfections on me but I am thankful enough that im just happy and healthy so I don't dwell, I used to when I was much younger then I met Ash and he made me realise body image really isn't that major! People love you because of you as a person not your weight or looks! I never diet because I don't necessarily want to lose weight I just want to tone my abs and stop the bloat I always seem to get after eating stuff like bread and carbs.

See it's all about LOVE!

My random post has come to an end. Enjoy! xoxox

Me and My fall out with my Babyliss Curling Wand

Sooooo I love this little beauty I really do....

All shiny and red (image courtsey of google) the only time I have ever been annoyed with it is when I saw it being sold for half of what I paid for it (which was only about £25 LOL) So I quickly let by-gones be by-gones and forgave!

It makes my hair all nice and pretty like this

So last night after not using it for about 2 or 3 months thought ohh i'll go curly tonight, so proceed to curl la la la la.......OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I burnt my neck :-(

I think I must have been so DIM in a) Even burning my neck and b) The 10 seconds it took for the pain to set in and realise crap im burning my neck move the curling wand NOW!

Now I have this nice souvenier -

Yes it is as big as it looks, it blistered and had all that watery fluid in (cos you wanted to know that) and now it hurts even more :-(

I did carry on curling my hair as obviously half a head of curls instead of a full head would have just added to my misery

So now I have this battle wound to show for my vanity.....and im going on abig girls night out in Manchester in 6 days and will prob still have this burn *oh deeeeeeear*

Oh well we live and we learn......I've made friends with it again as it really is a fabulous curler, great for creating glam wave like curls and heats up really hot and fast too its the best I have ever used! So I do recommend just don't get too wild like me haha!

To fringe or to not?!

Well when I was younger I always had a fringe that I hated as this was the day before flat irons, and all the other styling tools and my thick hair was a nightmare!! I grew it out when I was about 13 and always had a sort of side fringe and then it kept growing and growing and grew out, occassionally I trimmed the sides so it would be a long side fringe again but then a few months back I hacked away bored one day and turned it into a full fringe, not a very thick one but still a real one LOL, Its now started growing so i've pushed it to the side and its a side fringe once again but at abit of an awkward stage as its not long enough to stay out my face completely and is driving me mad!

I cant decided whether to leave it and let it grow more......leave it let it grow abit more and then keep it trimmed as a side fringe.......or go for it and trim it all and put the full fringe back in?

Decisions decisions!!!

So you can see the first image is me with my hair clipped up at the back but with the 'side long fringe', the middle image is a cropped modelling pic with 'no fringe' and the 3rd last image is me the day after I cut the 'full fringe' in with my baby LOL who seems unimpressed by me haha!!

So now im stuck :-s HELP!
