Rita Ora inspired look

So I got the blogging urge back today, mainly as I got some inspiration from my favourite song right now - R.I.P by Tinie Tempah and Rita Ora

I LOVE Rita Ora! Loved the last track she was featured on 'Hot right now' aswell, She has this really cool look going on of these wild blonde curls, feline lined eyes and a trademark red pout!

I am really not into red lipstick on myself, don't get me wrong I LOVE red lips but I never seem to wear it as it's too much effort for my 9mths pregnant self so these days abit of pink gloss is as glamourous as I get but today I thought id put the effort in so I could blog!

The red lipstick I used is Rimmel Moisture Renew in 'Rose Passion' I did a blog on it soooo long ago HERE

And I have to say I will be doing this look much more as I liked the outcome, the full items I used -
  • Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation (shade 201)
  • Rimmel professional eyebrow pencil (black/brown)
  • ELF Eyeshadow Primer
  • MUA Heaven and Earth palette (just for an all over lid neutral shade)
  • L'oreal Telescopic mascara (black)
  • Sleek 'Bad Gal' palette (the shade 'Noir' to line my eyes with an angled eyeliner brush)
  • Rimmel Kohl Pencil (to line my waterline)
  • Rimmel Sunshimmer Bronzer
  • NYX Long Lip pencil to line my lips

I want to try do a part 2 look with maybe a tutorial on her hair so going to have a go at that later this week hopefully

ALSO can't leave without a bump pic, My baby is due exactly a month tomorrow - 17th may! Eeeeeek how time has flown (been updating my preggo blog too click the link on the sidebar) can't wait to meet her finally :)

BlueBerry FOTD! Blue liner/Berry lips

Hi everyoneeeeee thought I would be back with a quick FOTD, I haven't worn much make up alately or nothing exciting so this is the best I have to offer you on recent FOTDs! One thing I am loving is ELF Mineral foundation which surprised me soooooooooo much I will definatley be repurchasing (full review coming soon) and one thing I am HATING is ELF Studio Tinted Moisturizer (went straight in the bin after one go not worth 10p never mind £3.50! It's not good unless you like to look orange, patchy and a general mess LOL)

Anyways todays FOTD is a coloured lined eye with berry lips, I love the colder months to rock berry lips. I thought as an alternative to my usual black liner I would do a navy, it's stil dark so defines well but a softer alternative the navy colour I used was from Sleek's Monaco Palette, you can see my review of that HERE the shade was 'Midnight Garden' then instead of using the same colour on my lower lashline and waterline or not using one I though I would team a lighter colour so from the same palette used 'Humming Bird' which is a shimmery turquoise colour, I used a angled liner brush to apply these and just wet it slightly and it as they are so pigmented it worked out fairly well, also to start with I used a eye primer and a neutral colour from the MUA Heaven and Earth palette

The other products I used aswell that I haven't mentioned were -
  •  L'oreal Telescopic mascara
  • NYC Chroma Face Glow in 'Sunstone' (I LOVE this so sad it's been discontinued, my mum has the other shade 'Moonstone' and that too is amazing, read the reviews on makeupalley HERE I think it's still around on some online sites like amazon or Ebay and I highly recommend!)
  • ELF Blush in 'Flushed'
  • Rimmel Professional Eyebrow pencil
  • ELF Eyelid Primer
  • 2True Colour Drench Lipstick 'shade 5'
  • NYX Long lipliner in 'Pinky'

My boring face LOL

Sooooo I haven't done a FOTD for a while and the truth is *confession time* I have been so freaking boring alately with my make up.....it seriously is 'different day...same crap' haha. Sooo I thought I would share with you what I lovingly call my 'boring face' and it comes with a pact that this week I will make a special effort to inject some colour and vibrancy into my face! I just love looks like this as I can do it in like 10mins and it's fresh, simple, easy, goes with everything..etc etc..you get my drift!

So the boring 'classic FOTD' basically consists of a brown-y/bronz-y/neutral sort of look. I used MAC Ever hip lipstick and 2 shadows from the 'Urban Decay Preen Shadow Box' which is an old palette although still available in places I love the colours in this they are all ideal for me, -

The shadows I used were 'Toasted' the bottom left one all over the lid (after using primer potion) and then 'Smog' it's friend to the side in the outer corners, I was using the top colour 'Snatch' to highlight but it has quite chunky bits of glitter in which fall all over my face! Grr!

I have been abit Urban Decay crazy at the minute and recentley bought the Naked palette (59years after everyone *yawn* haha), The Book Of Shadows Vol III, and the Deluxe Shadow Box. Soooooo there is some beautiful colours in them that I will be abusing shortly!

Hope you are all having/had a fab weekend!

The using my Blush as a lipstick experiment........

Hi everyone I did a post not long back featuring one of the MAC Cremeblend blushes 'So Sweet So Easy' HERE and the lovely Alexis was curious as to see what the shade looked like as a lip color, as it is such a soft and pretty pink, I had actually never thought of doing it but OMG I LOVE IT!!!! What a fantastic idea, I mentioned in the other post I had difficulty and I still just can't get it to work as a blush.....everytime I apply it it goes patchy which im sad about as I love it, i've tried it with my fingers/blush brushes/stipple brush even my Sigma F80 flat top kabuki but still to no avail.

Sooo I am very happy that it's working for me as a lip colour at least! It actually had pretty good lasting power and was quite moistourising, I will be trying this on more cream blushes, here's some pics -

I wasn't in a creative or bright make up mood today so the natural finish fitted in nicely, I was just off to do some work so I just did a neutral eye with thick liner to glam up abit but kept the rest of my make up simple, I didn't even use blush today just my w7 Honolulu bronzer.

I love little tips like this so a big thanks to Alexis I now have a great new way to wear this and not waste it!

Also thought i'd share these 2 funny pics of the week seen as its friday haha -
This is a portrait of this man done with bricks!! Imagine having that at the side of your house, how cool though! Was a quick blackberry snap whilst I was in a taxi at the traffic lights LOL
& My rescue cat I blogged about before George, we've had him for about 5wks now! Here is in the garden earlier sticking his tongue out hahaha how cheeky!
 Happy weekend dolls! xoxoxo

p.s I will get the swatches up from my E.L.F haul at the beginning of the week ASAP I haven't forgotten as I know a few people wanted to see the blushes in more detail.

Quick FOTD! Natural 'Brown/Green eye' and MAC 'Ever Hip'

Today I decided to do a 'natural look' but added green as thats quite a natural colour although I know when I think of the word 'natural' for make up I think Naked Palette and Too Faced's Natural eye Palette which are browns!

My MAC Ever Hip lipstick came today sooooooooooooo excited it is so pretty, both these pics look the same I need a new pose goddammit!

I actually used a mid olive green from the Manly 120 palette and the brown was actually a copper dazzle dust by Barry M, this amazing colour -

To be honest I don't LOVE how it turned out, but I liked the colours and concepts, I think I should have used a black liner, but to keep with the natural theme I used brown but on the pics it just looks part of the eyeshadow,

From as soon as I tried Ever hip today I loved it as much as I thought I would it's been sold out which I was gutted about but then the lovely Ashlie held a giveaway as she had a spare and I won! It's a lovely soft coral with more pink undertones than orange which make it an extremely wearable colour for all skin tones, I think even in winter it will look great, and I thought i'd be retiring coral lips as winter comes but with this I definatley wont.

I didn't get a lip swatch but I will get one up cos I then put a NYX lip gloss in 'Sugar Pie' over the top, which slightly lightened it and gave it an extra glossy shine and I have to say this is one of my fave lip concoctions!

This may sound weird but I really feel I 'need' black eyeliner otherwise I feel something just doesn't look right with my face.....am I insane or do other people have a staple they feel they must always use? LOL.

The full list of items I used is:
FACE
  • Wet N Wild Concealer (ivory)
  • Rimmel 25hr foundation (201)
  • Honolulu w7 bronzer
EYES
  • Benefit Lemon Aid eye primer

  • Copper shade Barry M dazzle dust
  • NYX brown eyeliner
  • Rimmel professional eyebrow pencil
LIPS
  • NYX long lip pencil (natural)
  • MAC Ever Hip
  • NYX Gloss (Sugar Pie)

Keepin it Casual.....Outfit Of The Day and a little Face Of The Day

So I thought i'd do a 'Casual outfit of the day' as I rarely do daytime OOTD posts, i've done night/party ones a few times and I think the reason for this is my style if you can call it that LOL is really simple......jeans/vest and heels simple, I love casual but glam wear so I might dress casual but for example to be glam always wear heels, I'm just more of a make-up/shoes and handbag obsessive than a fashionista, don't get me wrong I like clothes but I like to get dressed up for occasions and just simply wearing heels makes me feel glam, plus to be honest half the time I think the 'in trend' and 'fashion-y' stuff aren't nice or flattering! So this will be one of few OOTDs but I will try get more as I like to see them on blogs so assuming my readers might too.

Sorry for the crap middle image thats so dark someone *cough cough* Ash my bf didn't put the flash on and it was the only front facing one I had to had to be put on here! Grr LOL.
So yep I was just going to do some shopping in Leeds (didn't get much but might do a haul of the H&M stuff I got this week) So I wore a simple orange cropped tee, black skinnies (I could live in these! So easy to dress up or down and go with everything!) and my canvas wedges.....AAAND my favourite - The furry bag! I also took a denim jacket thanks to the upredictable UK weather!
  • Top - Primark
  • Jeans - New Look
  • Wedges - Primark
  • Handbag - River Island

I love this bag, the studded handle and the soft fur (FAUX FUR obviously!) but I have barely used it since getting it for xmas as I haven't felt it goes with much but then found it added some pizazz to a plain outfit The only thing i'm abit pissed about it some of the black dye from my jeans transferred onto the back of my bag from it rubbing against my leg.....so not happy I got most of it off and you can barely tell now, but still....my poor furry baby.

Jewellery wise....big gold earrings and one of my fave bangles the snake one -

And lastly my 'Face Of The Day' - Easy peasy neutral lined eyes with a coral/orange lip:

(hahaha this pic makes me laugh taking a pic of myself like a poser when Ash is on the phone in the background LOL)
PRODUCTS USED:
  • Rimmel 25hr foundation (shade 201)
  • Wet N Wild Natural Powder (Ivory)
  • Rimmel Professional eyebrow pencil (black/brown)
  • Clinique High impact mascara
  • 2True liquid liner
  • MUA Heaven and Earth palette
  • Rimmel Sunshimmer (medium matte) bronzer
  • Bourjois little blush pots (Lilas D'or)
  • Rimmel 1000 kisses lipliner (Tiramisu)
  • Rimmel lasting finish lipstick (Coral in Gold)
  • Sleek Glo Face & Body highlighter on browbone and cheeks (Peach shimmer)
Do not ask what was going on with my hair, it's naturally on the wavy side like that so I didn't use no heat on it just some volumising mousse and abit of salt spray.....in the words of Ash 'Could have brushed your hair man' hahahahah charming, got to love men, I was going for the Sufer Chic look gosh!

Face and Outfit of the night! Friday night AKA Party Night :)

Friday night was drinks with the girls, drinks involved us deciding our town was crap and we should go into leeds which is a 20min train away......to go to a club that had seen better days LOL. All in all it was a funny night but going to Leeds wasn't the best plan! Anyway my FOTN and OOTN.....

The make up I used to my FOTN was:

FACE
  • Rimmel lasting finish 25hr foundation (shade 201)
  • NYC concealer
  • Rimmel Stay Matte powder
  • Bourjois Blush Pots (Lilas D'or)
  • Rimmel profession eyebrow pencil (black/brown)
EYES
  • Benefit Lemon Aid eye primer (See HERE for review)
  • Neutral shade all over the eye (4th shade along on the top row of the MUA Heaven and Earth Palette see HERE)
  • Accessorize Eyeshadow (Platinum see HERE) packed on my lid and then lightly under the browbone and blended
  • Midnight Garden (A Navy shade from the Sleek Monaco Palette see HERE) in the crease and outer V of the eye
LIPS
  • NYX Long Lipliner (Nutmeg)
  • NYX Round Lipstick (Power - A lilac shade see HERE) MIXED WITH Lip Balm and Clear Gloss as its abit overpowering alone
Because the Accessorize shadow is a metallic strong silver, and I added the definition with the Navy Blue in the crease I wanted to keep my lips simple which is why I choose just a light hand coat of 'Power' it is such a pretty colour you just have to use it with caution!
And some more pics...... :)

My hair was really decided to let me down, and I was going to just go with a really high sleek ponytail but the Mr just looked at me and was like 'No Vikki' Enough said LOL. Ideally I would have curled it or put some bounce in but laziness took over and I was rushing, So I sprayed it with Batiste for abit of va-va-voom and swung it over one side of my shoulder.

Moving onto the Outfit of the night I wore this one sleeve leopard print silver/grey dress from Miso @ Republic I got it about January time and I love it, its a lovely thick material and slightly rouched and the leopard bits are velvety, the sleeve is slightly sheer you can't see the sleeve in the pics but it is a long sleeve

Accessories I had the black bangle with silver flecks on that you can see in the above picture (you can't see my nails but it is Barry M 'Shocking Pink a bright pink which I had on for a day and just kept on (theres that laziness again ha ha ha) and these earrings which are some new favourites I got in primark for a bargain £2.50, they have little grey feathers on which matched my dress perfectly

And to finish off (not including the black tights which are a neccessity in this poor excuse of a summer the UK is having) I wore these silver heels, They have a slightly metallic cracked effect and they are Miss Selfridge
So there you have it an OOTN and FOTN!

Golden-Berry Face Of The Day using MUA Heaven and Earth palette & Berry Lipstick

So as I mentioned a couple of posts back I am loving the berry lip trend that is going to be huge for winter and I showed you the new Colour Drench 2true lipstick I got (post HERE). So I thought I would do a look with that and the MUA Heaven and Earth palette that I also showed you (post HERE). I thought because the lip colour is very striking and quite dark it was probabaly best to stick with neutral eyes, but to still keep it warm I used golden colours, so it ended up been 'A Golden-Berry look' I think I will be wearing this quite alot in the coming months, although I want either a more darker brown toned berry or a more plum colour, this one is abit too fuchsia, I like it but its not 'The one'.

Anyhoodles here is the look - (for the eye's I used '1' all over the lid, '2' on the eyelid and '3' in the crease and outer corners, I also put abit of highlighter under my browbone

The full list of products I used was -
FACE:
  • Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hr foundation (shade 201)
  • W7 Concealer palette
  • Collection 2000 shine away powder (medium)
  • W7 Honolulu bronzer
  • Benefit Posie Tint on cheeks
  • Rimmel eyebrow pencil (black/brown)
EYES:
  • Benefit Lemon Aid (to prime my eyes)
  • MUA Heaven and Earth Eyeshadow palette
  • 2True Liquid Liner
  • Clinique High Impact mascara
